Artist Talk and Learning Journey to Goodman Ceramic Studio - GDMC
Key Objectives of the Learning Journey
To enhance their positive self-concept by introducing various modes of expression beyond just written and verbal communication.
To provide students with authentic learning experiences through the use of art forms.
To foster resilience in students as they plan, manage, and complete unfamiliar or challenging tasks through hands-on activities.
To cultivate a sense of aesthetics in the students.
The programme is 2.5 hours.
Transport duration: 30-40 mins per way.
Total duration around 3.5 - 4 hours.
Briefing to accompanying Teachers
Post Learning-Journey
Attired: Polo Tshirt / PE attire, Water Bottle.
Reminders. (You - denote student)
As you are representing the school, please make sure that you are on your best behaviour and attire.
Like all visit to galleries and museums, please do not touch or damage any artefacts you see or you will be taken to task and very likely you have to compensate for any damages you caused.
Do pay attention to the instructors and you will get to create very interesting Artwork.
Any misbehaviour will not be tolerated and you will be barred from any future learning journey
Once you have completed your task, please take a photo of the work BEFORE doing your Post Learning Journey reflection. QR code
Programme Outline:
8.30 am Depart from school
900 - 930am Arrive at GDMC
930 - 940am Visit restroom (as needed)
940 - 950am Welcome and artist talk
950 - 1020am Demonstration on Sculpture Making
1020 - 1130am Making the sculpture
1130 - 1150pm Glazing the sculpture
1150 - 1200pm Clean up and wrap up
1200pm Ready to depart from studio GDMC.
1230pm Arrive back at school
